The last LTT activity was held at the end of April at the II Liceum Ogólnokształcące im. Adama Mickiewicza in Slupsk, Poland. In this activity, students were taught 3D design modelling by the teachers of the Polish school.

The content:

Day1: Students presented PPP about their schools, cities, countries and educational systems. They all played icebreaking games in smaller internationally mixed groups as well as a whole group together which provided for a smoother and enjoyable process of socializing. 

Day 2: (4 h) workshops – introduction to 3D printing, theory and main approaches, introducing ICT area, setting accounts. A trip to the seaside  –  building sand castles in international groups. Taking pictures to redesign the strictures during latter workshops.

 Day 3: a cultural trip to Gdańsk, visiting Centrum Hewelianum” – an interactive science museum and sightseeing tour around the Old Town with detecting structures for next day workshops. 

Day 4: (6h) workshops – putting sand castles (from day 2) into algorithms and printing them 3D, working in international groups of three, workshops led by host students as facilitators 

Day 5: (4 h) workshops – a display of 3D prints done on day 4. Leaving a footprint in the school yard with planting flowerbeds with the national flags and the logo of a project.  Closing ceremony with handing out certificates and a final cake. Karaoke for students.

 

During this LTTA all the participants could develop certain competences and skills, such as improvement of reading comprehension competences, analysing skills, critical thinking and creativity, working in a team as well as in new environments to better integrate in the global labour market. As far as communicative skills as concerned, the participants got a chance to improve their English by using a foreign language most of the time of their stay. English language had to be used to communicate with peers and teachers from other countries as well as the families that hosted them for 5 days. The participants could enhance English vocabulary connected with the topic of the workshop and improved their ability to understand people from different countries when speaking English. The workshop was an excellent opportunity for students to check their language skills in real life situations. Students have worked with digital material in the creation of project outcomes, thus they acquired certain ICT skills and the ability to process and manage electronic documents while working on a 3D design and print. Last but not least, the participants developed some organisational competences, such as ability to organize the tasks carried out during the mobility, ability to identify priorities, make quick decisions and work under pressure, to work in team and efficiently manage relations with other members of the team, to cooperate in multicultural environments. We could also notice an overall improvement of the sense of flexibility, adaptability, critical thinking and problem solving and development of entrepreneurial spirit.
