II Liceum Ogolnoksztalcace z Oddzialami Dwujezycznymi w Slupsku – Poland
The wisdom comes from your own hard work” – paraphrasing our patron, we are proud of our students. The thing the school offers first and foremost is the possibility of attending the best educational institution in Słupsk. Every single day provides us with loads of hard work, nevertheless it also brings us vast pride of our students when they succeed. We are the promoters of the United Europe. Since 1989 we have been a partner in students or teachers exchange programs, starting with international exchanges, via Comenius mobilities and projects, ending up with the Erasmus+. The youngsters are offered to study 6 different languages. Among the graduates of our school there are over 81 winners of subject contests and 175 finalists. But we also emphasize the key role of a family background, the right to education for the disabled or maladjusted. No matter their social, economic situation, our goal is to provide the students with the access to education, freedom of speech, will and choice, right to live healthily and safely. We also try to prepare students for their future life in modern and multicultural Europe. “Keeping up with modern Europe” – this is one of the motives of our actions on daily basis. We wish to keep up with our students in the new world of modern technologies and wish to be their partners in contemporary reality, even if it is to be partly virtual. After all, in today’s technological world 5-10 years seems to be eternity. That makes us more interested in the effects of undertaken activities; the influence of ICT on today’s didactic, motivating students through activities employing their involvement, commitment and creativity. Taking all these into account as well as high motivation and expectations of our students towards our school we feel a constant need to think about their future. Basing on the research done yearly, after graduation, we can see what universities our students choose. Surprisingly often very clever students find some problems with choosing their own path or walk of life. We see a paradox: we try to prepare our students today for jobs of the future, which sometimes don’t exist yet. Teachers involved in this project can contribute to it in the field of STEM, languages, humanities. They have taken part in other Comenius and Erasmus+ projects in KA1 and KA2 actions. There are also teachers – believers, who cannot participate but we can count on their support in the field of psychology, art, social and interpersonal skills. M.Rządkowska – an experienced with Comenius and Erasmus+ projects coordinator has participated in many actions both as a coordinator and participant. With a full support of M. Domański, a principal, thanks to his dedication and devotion in a field of European development of their students, all the project has been run successfully. We are a public secondary school from Poland with 450 students at the age between 15 and19 and 40 teachers.
